How to make Cloth Masks to protect ourselves

Make your own fabric mask

Given the shortage of surgical masks on the market, we asked The apprentice on pins to teach us how to sew reusable cloth masks after each wash.

What do you need to create these masks?

• Two triangles of cotton fabric measuring 18×24 cm
• Some elastic tape
• Sewing machine

For making the templates, we opted for a 90° washable fabric.

It should be remembered that cloth masks, not being water-repellent, are no substitute for surgical masks or FFP2s as they do not provide effective and complete protection against the virus. But, considering the scarcity of the aforementioned devices, the cloth mask, along with compliance with hygiene rules and safe distance, is a precaution that should not be underestimated.
