To make a cloth pumpkin we need:
Assemble the 4 pieces of fabric by placing them next to each other, machine stitch them together and make a cylinder. Make a yarn stitch with strong cotton at both the top and bottom of the cylinder.
At the top, on the reverse side, fasten with the sewing machine 4 strands of twine to the fabric.
Close the side of the cylinder where you did the thread stitch as if to form a pouch. Fill the fabric with synthetic stuffing wadding and close the other side as well by tightening the thread.
You will thus have obtained a flattened ball formed from four alternating segments of fabric. Run the twine over the pillow to outline the wedges and tie it by making a bow. Embellish the top of the gourd with a sprig, like a petiole, and fabric leaves made by you.
Cut out a piece of pannolenci in the shape of a leaf and make the center ribs with your Necchi sewing machine. You can make a very thick zig zag stitch or a delicate embroidery stitch. Attach the leaves to the gourd and you're done!
