Instructions for proper assembly of free-motion embroidery foot for Pfaff sewing machine
Unplug the sewing machine before assembling the unit
Do not loosen the needle fastening screws. The needle must be inserted.
Mounting the Mending Foot :
loosen the holding screw on the presser foot holder, insert the pin into the hole, taking care to rest the arm against the top of the needle clamp.
Tighten the screw, lower the presser foot lifter and make sure the needle does not touch the presser foot by manually turning the machine. Make sure you have tightened the needle clamp firmly.
ADJUSTMENTS FOR PFAFF SEWING MACHINES
Stitch selection: Bring the needle to the highest position and select straight stitch or Zig-Zag
If you choose Zig-Zag adjust the width so that the needle does not touch sideways on the presser foot.
( PLEASE NOTE) Recheck that the needle is not touching the presser foot by turning the machine manually. In the case of electronic machines pay special attention to this.
For machines that have the lowering feature of the transport jaw, use it. For machines that do not have the lowering feature, use the jaw cover plate.
Stitch length adjustment: not necessary
Sewing speed: sew at medium speed.
HOW TO USE THE EMBROIDERY FOOT FOR EMBROIDERY OR MONOGRAMMING
Trace the pattern onto the fabric to be embroidered and center it on the embroidery hoop (optional and recommended). Make sure the fabric is tightly stretched. For embroidering very thin fabrics, insert a light sheet of paper under the fabric.
Pull out the lower thread by turning the handwheel toward yourself while slightly holding the upper thread, then pull out the upper and lower threads together about 6 inches. Pick up the lower thread then execute two or three stitches. Cut off the excess thread.
Hold the two strands and begin stitching along the contours of the pattern with the cord stitch. Continue stitching by guiding the frame with your hand.
To finish sew a few stitches by adjusting the zig-zag width to 0 (straight stitching).
